Get Away

The end of the trilogy, this was inspired by a news report on somebody who had been stabbed at a railway station. I thought it would be interesting to tell both sides of the coin and you get both their stories.

The Flick of a knife
The glint of a blade
Blood runs in the night
A man runs away afraid

Johnny lies on his back
Red split in his side
And he screams in the dark
Hoping some one will find

His body lying there
He is fading fast
Sirens wail in the night
Hoping he will last

You're running now
You're running now
You got to get away

The bandit is running
Cops hot on his heels
He drops the knife
And begins to kneel

Stick hard in his thigh
He begins to fall
Cold metal on his wrists
And “justice for all?”

Johnny woke last night
Got to say goodbye
Died on a Monday
Looking at the sky

You're running now
You're running now
You got to get away
