Murmur

This was a throwaway collections of riffs that came together nicely. The lyrics revolve around the motif of silence. The lyrics were inspired by a line my friend Sarah uttered during literature, "A deafening murmur." I told her instantly that I would use that in a song and hastily asked permission. I'm pretty sure it was granted. It was linked to together by a sense of loss at a failed relationship, the first of many penned.

I live in the valley,
Of skin and bones and teeth,
And I am firm in my belief
That I’m invisible to you

And I can’t escape

Mindless thoughts preserve
The mumblings of some
But your deafening silence
Has let me come undone

And I can’t escape

Beyond the horizon
Drowning in your silhouette I lay
Ignorant to
The crushing hand of fate
