Take This Life Then Give it Back

The second of the three, proud of the riff and the energy, it was written on the last day of year 12. Hopefully that provides you with enough context to understand elements of my thinking.

You’re suffocating inside my mouth
You’re suffocating inside my head
You suffocate, you suffocate

You’re squeezing the life out of me,
You’re squeezing the dissent out of me
You’re squeezing the life, you’re squeezing the life

When the bell rings for the final time
I’ll escape the confines of my mind
Loosen the chain around our necks

I’m living out my eternal dreams
I’m living out my eternal fears
I’m living out, I’m living out

The blanket is gone, the blanket is dead
The blanket is gone, it’s under my bed
The blanket is gone, the blanket is gone

When the bell rings for the final time
I’ll escape the confines of my mind
Loosen the chain around our necks
